Camden Comedy Club presents:
KEN CHENG & DARREN HARRIOTT: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS
KEN CHENG Ken burst onto the UK comedy scene after reaching the final of the 2015 BBC Radio New Comedy Award. He recently filmed for BBC Three’s Top Tens and performed in CKP’s Lunchtime Special at the Edinburgh Festival last August. As heard in Liam Williams’ Ladhood (BBC Radio 4). Ken was born in the UK to Chinese immigrants. He studied Maths at Cambridge for a year, before dropping out to play online poker professionally. Ken also plays League of Legends and has reached Diamond 2 ranking. It’s worth noting that Ken is not Phil Wang. “It was a smart, impressive and brilliantly funny tour-de-comedy” – Steve Bennett, Chortle
DARREN HARRIOTT Darren Harriott is one of the most exciting up-and-coming comedians on the circuit. Over the last year, he has appeared on Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central, supporting Jimmy Carr. He also provided tour support for Funmbi Omotayo on his national tour. Darren then headed to the Edinburgh Festival 2016, as part of the prestigious Pleasance Reserve, where he featured on the comedy show, BBC Radio 4 Extra Stands Up. A confident performer with a captivating charm, Darren’s comedy deals with everything from subverting stereotypes, to everyday observations, to that juiciest of topics, religion – all with a cutting edge.
“A likeable and charismatic performer” – Paul Sinha “Darren Harriott had the biggest beard and got some of the biggest laughs of the night… Harriott, is definitely going to make an impact.” – Bruce Dessau
